Last Kiss Taylor Swift

Okay. So I usually do books on this blog, which is weird because this is a book/song blog, so I thought I would do that. First, I would like to start with Taylor Swift-, my favorite singer, role model, and the person I base what I want in my future off of.

So, for a few words about her. She's pretty and talented. Taylor writes most of her songs, and is super dedicated and loves what she does. Other singers aren't as dedicated as Taylor is. Also, some will use autotune to fix their voice, but Taylor barely does. When I went to see her concert, she sounded almost exactly like she did in the album, but slightly different, because every time you perform something it's always different somehow.

Now, I would like to introduce the song, which you probably know, judging by the title. It's Last Kiss on her Speak Now album which released last year around November, I think. I chose this because it goes great with the Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa, which released this Tuesday. Here are the lyrics (from taylorswift.com):

I still remember the look on your face
Lit through the darkness at 1:58
The words that you whispered for just us to know
You told me you loved me
So why did you go away
Away

I do recall now, the smell of the rain
Fresh on the pavement
I ran off the plane
That July ninth, the beat of your heart
It jumps through your shirt
I can still feel your arms
But now I'll go, sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is I don't know
How to be something you miss
I never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips

I do remember the swing of your step
The life of the party, you're showing off again
And I'd roll my eyes and then you'd pull me in
I'm not much for dancing, but for you I did
Because I love your handshake, meeting my father
I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets
How you'd kiss me when I was in the middle of saying something
There's not a day I don't miss those rude interruptions

And I'll go sit on the floor
Wearing your clothes
All that I know is I don't know
How to be something you miss
I never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips

So I'll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep
And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe
And I'll keep up with our old friends
Just to ask them how you are
Hope it's nice where you are

And I hope the sun shines and it's a beautiful day
And something reminds you you wish you had stayed
You can plan for a change in the weather and time
But I never planned on you changing your mind

So I'll go, sit on the floor wearing your clothes
All that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss
I never thought we'd have a last kiss
Never imagined we'd end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
Just like our last kiss
Forever the name on my lips
Forever the name on my lips
Just like our last

I think this captures a bad break-up and how a girl wants her so badly. This is my first song-review/recommendation, and I don't have a lot of time so you'll have bear with me and my next one will be longer. But I really like this one because because it's like a ballad and it's just so emotional like everyone of Taylor's songs. Really good, right? I think it really matched the Iron Knight, don't you agree? That's it for this post, but visit taylorswift.com to check up on Taylor Swift's latest stats. I also think her blog is on that website. (Check under the "Journal" tab.)  And her video diaries are on YouTube, so type in "taylorswift13" in the search engine and there you go!

  1. I like songs like this from Taylor because they have real emotion to them. It's not bashing or mean. I don't like the songs that kind of attack her ex's. This album is really good though. I bought it when it came out. This is one of my favorite songs from it. And Back to December. I love that one. Is it weird that I know who each of the songs on the album is written about haha!!

Thanks so much for deciding to comment! I'll definitely remember to stop by your lovely blog later.

I do not accept awards or tags. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to pass them on as they rightfully deserve but thank you so much for considering my blog.
